Listening to music while working (as I always do) and the song I was thinking about is playing right now..."Johnny Cash" by Fred Eaglesmith
Well you sure do like Johnny Cash now
Now that they've put him in the ground
You hang his poster on your ceiling
His songs give you a real good feeling
You sure do like Johnny Cash now
Where were you in 1989?
When it looked like Johnny was on the decline
His career was fading
And his shows weren't selling
You were listening to heavy metal
Well you sure do like Johnny Cash now
You sure do like Johnny Cash now
Now that they've put him in the ground
The radio station plays him all the time
Too bad you hardly played him when he was alive
But you sure do like Johnny Cash now
Yeah, you sure do like Johnny Cash now
And you sure did like…

Red Hot Chili Peppers were the first big paid concert I went to. They were terrible. Opening band got booed off stage, RHCP were on stage for 40minutes, no encore, Paid I think $99 for nosebleeds at the ACC. I went to "Sound of Music" festival which is a free music festival in the summer in Burlington plenty of times. Then went to Molson Amp a bunch for like $20 concerts which I had 0 care of who it was, just was something to do (I think the first one I saw was AKON, illScarlett, K-os) but I don't consider that my real concert virginity.
I've hated RHCP ever since that concert and they were my fave band at that point. It was my bday then too, I was so mad. Still am

Motley Crue, Shout At The Devil tour, Accept opened. CNE Colosseum, Toronto, 1984. General admission show. Great concert, had a big impact on me. I loved going to concerts after that.

Thanks for the welcome.
Yeah, I saw The Tea Party back in the mid 90's, they headlined Edgefest one year at Molson Park, Barrie Ontario. They were pretty good, but the lead singer definitely was channeling Jim Morrison, probably a little too much.
I saw Crue on the next Tour, Theatre Of Pain at Maple Leaf Gardens as well.
Saw Metallica open for Aerosmith in 89. Also saw them in 96 when they headlined Lollapalooza (loudest concert I've been to, and it was outdoors)
