Example 1:
Player A: 64.5
Player B: 64.2
They are virtually equal in value
Example 2:
Player A: 140.5
Player B: 82.5
Player A is significantly better
Can someone explain to me how the rating number is calculated?

One thing I'm pretty sure of is that these ratings take into account the time factor of production. So Byfeld may be lower rated, in part, due to the fact that's he's not projected to be in the NHL this year.
