    Default Crosby for Hamilton

I have been offered Crosby for my Dougie Hamilton. I'm a big Crosby fan, so I am tempted. But Hamilton looked great last year before his injury, and he is 6 years younger. How many elite years does Crosby have left? I have enough defensive depth that I can afford to move Hamilton, if it makes sense.

It depends. How many players do you keep and what are your current keepers?

no, 33 year old Crosby with chip on shoulder after embarrassing elimination, I want that guy for the immediate impact. Obviously injuries are a thing but he's shown he can recoup from major ones, willing to take the chance for his ability that he'll be healthy once ready. He's had a lot of rest and that's great for his "old" legs but he's gonna wear a saddle and carry that team. Sid is cerebral, he still has some solid seasons left until the likes of 37 years old. If you get a plus to Hamilton that's different.

Take Crosby. I still am not comfortable with Hamilton as an elite producer. Two years ago he put up 39 points in 82 games even though he is a superb goal scorer and does a lot of other good things from the blueline category wise. I would much rather add Sid to my lineup and figure out how to replace Hamilton than the other way around, so it seems like this trade is a clear win for you. I am not sure if knowing more about your league format would change my opinion, most likely not. I also think Crosby as an asset could probably get you a better player than Hamilton.
