Keeper Help

My team is in my signature below. We need to keep 8 and wanted some Dobber Experts to help me with who my last keepers should be.

My current thoughts are:

MacKinnon
Rantanen
Makar
Dahlin
Hellebuyck

Then need to pick 3 from:
Kakko
Teravainen
Provorov
Samsonov
Couturier
Meier
Poink
Suzuki

I am leaning towards Samsonov, Kakko and Meier - do you agree?

depends if you want a flashy name or want to try and win

Provorov and maybe poink are probably worth more in this format than dahlin due to hits and such, all comparable points wise

id consider poink over dahlin personally but upside of dahlin really makes it a personal choice.

meier is very intriguing but id go with proven over anything , being that you start 2 goalies, why not sew up a one two of helle and samsonov? Unless a 2nd good goalie is easy to get.

Samsonov I agree with. Then it comes down to pick 2 of 3 for me: Meier, Kakko & Suzuki....and at that point I'm stuck. I think Meier gets an edge on a spot due to hits. Almost a drop one of Suzuki or Kakko and hope you can redraft them imo.

So you start 2 goalies? In that case I'd add Samsonov. As for the other two I'd go Kakko (for his upside) and Meier.

Another option is to drop Samsonov and pick up Provorov, but your team is young and I like Samsonov in 2 years but next season he'll split with Lundqvist so just keep that in mind.

And agree, depending on available draft goalies I take samsonov.

I take Meier for the cat coverage.

Then I’d personally go one of couturier/teravainen. Toss up for me. I maybe lean teravainen. Both are more proven than kakko and suzuki.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like Samsonov is a unanimous #6 keeper (yes we start 2 goalies and yes they are the most coveted positions in this league). Based on this was also wondeing how Dobber Experts feel about Merzlikins? I see Dobber has him rated higher than Samsonov, but not sure how many games he will play as he is in a 1A/1B situation in Columbus. If others think they are close, would likely be able to trade Samsonov for a draft pick (also Provorov has some high value in our league).

It's 3 of these guys for me:
Provorov - best D of the remainder. You note he has strong value in your league, I explore trading him.
Samsonov - start 2 goalies, I'd keep two. However, you could deal him as well.
Couturier - solid player, solid team, very reasonable guy to keep. Center only, though
Meier - You love the off night teams, however, it's a weekly start league. makes sense to keep, dual wing, I suspect he's the easiest redraft on this list, though
Suzuki - Young, emerging, and also dual position

Not these:
Kakko is too iffy, and not physical.
Pionk << Provorov until I see it for more than one year.
Teravianen - scores like a scorer, hits like a Lady (Byng candidate)

My league is set up much like yours, and smart sentiment on goalies. I think you will be in great shape with Helley and Samsonov. I strongly feel that unless the Jets pull in a PPQB, they roll out Pionk over Morrissey for at least one more year, and Pionk is a HIT man. He was a top 5 Dman in my league sig. I had him and loved it! I traded him for a high draft pick and because we can only keep 7 and I already have Carlson and Makar. So for me I say Samsonov, Pionk and Couturier. Couts is a 200', ppg, 1st line player with #1 PP and can throw his weight around when needed. And he is in his prime with an improving team. I would have taken Provorov over Couts if not for two things (Signing of the Goose, and no blocks).

Leaning towards Provorov, Meier, Kakko
