Good deal for both. I think Dannault signs the same deal eventually. MB will have his work cut out for him next off season. I think Tatar is as good as gone.
Trade rumours were swirling and extension talks seemed to have soured on Tuesday. Today (Wednesday), they sign Gally for big coin. I wonder what this means for some others on the roster, such as Danault.

I would have preferred 6 x 6, but if anyone deserves a little monetary recognition, it's Gallagher. He outperformed his last contract by a fair margin. Good for Habs fans.

In my real salary, multi-cat league, Gallagher was gold - such value.
6.5 is steeper for him in real life but palatable.

I'm feeling like some of these contracts are a smidge higher than ppl expected but not too high to make anyone question it.
If he gets the smidge the other way on other guys it's fine. If he is giving out that smidge higher that's when teams get into some meh areas. Unless someone overperforms and hides that guy making a mill too much
Allen, Edmundson, and Anderson contracts are quite bad, but the Toffoli and Gallagher signings are quite good. On balance, 50/50 seems to be the best you can hope for with NHL GMs. Canadiens are basically capped out this year (not much flexibility for in season moves), but $16MM next year with a full top 6 and top 4 (but not much more) signed. Bergevin gonna be walking a tightrope capwise for a couple years.
This is a good signing. He's earned that amount already through his play, and it's in the ballpark of what one expected him to get. He's their best forward, and if he's not getting that sort of money, they need to fix the decision making.

Definitely earned. Still don't love their direction though.
Agree w/others.
Seeing some guys get $5m really puts into perspective that Gallagher (at $6.5m) is solid value.
The guy is Marchand-lite... he really does it all and gives the Habs blood.
He deserved this contract and he'll play his worth out for the duration.

LOVE the Habs offseason and love the Gally deal - there was no way that warrior was going anywhere, Hab for life and future Captain.
Hello boys, haven’t posted in awhile, hope everyone’s doing great!
