Ceci won't re-sign with Toronto for now

As a Tampa fan I was about to ask just this. Is a 1 year around 1.5 million feasible or will someone hand him 3-4 million a year since there not a lot of d-man available?
Shattenkirk is certainly gone, Bogosian probably too, Coburn can't be trusted to play a full season anymore and not dure about Schenn and Rutta, I wouldn't mind to have Ceci as a 3rd pair defenseman to backup Sergachev, with the possibility to pair him with Hedman as well.

It sounds like you see him as a top 4 Dman if you are pairing him up with Hedman and that's the problem you don't want. He's not a top 4 Dman and people need to stop seeing him as a top pairing guy.

I'd say $1.5 - 2M is feasable as long as much isn't asked of him.

Not at all. I truly believe he's not more than a 3rd pairing guy, but I believe the same about Bogo and he was able to hold on besides Hedman but I think that says more about Hedman (who might be the best hockey player in the world right now) than anyone else. What I was asking is if someone might hand him $3M+ due to the lack of options in the market.

If Ceci wants to go to a subpar team, I can see him going for 3-4mill with a 2yr deal (2yr, 6-mill). He's a 26yr old (turns 27 in December) RHD dman. I can def see him getting overpaid by a team with space for a short term deal.

I get that we are all excited about Tampa winning the cup and Hedman the Conn-Smythe, but clearly he is not the best player in the world right now.
