    Default Tim Heed signs in Swiss League

    Doesnt sound like he's not able to return to the league so thats a good thing but still worth keeping an eye on.

    Tim Heed has signed with HC Lugano in Switzerland. The former San Jose Sharks defenceman is an unrestricted free agent and his Swiss contract only runs through Nov. 15 to leave open the possibility for a NHL return.

    Wouldn't be surprised to see a few bottom 7 team players, especially ones who didn't play regularly, get something set up like this. Especially with some minor and farm team leagues in flux. There have been some reports of others considering this kind of thing.

    Good for him. Enjoy the hockey life in Europe. I love that when players do this. He's had his shots at playing full time in the NHL, but never able to fully take advantage of that.

    I also think there is going to be a lot of players who don't have current contracts do the same thing. We all know hockey players love to play hockey so they might as well make a bit of money and play instead of preparing for a season that won't start until December.
