Membership votes can take two or three days to complete. A simple majority is required to ratify an agreement. Once the agreement is ratified by NHLPA and NHL, the RTP protocols can begin to be enacted.
With all the optimism the past 3-4 days, we still don’t have news of tentative agreement. I’ve heard the hub cities set, Olympic participation, the cap and escrow discussions (reportedly) agreed... so does anyone have information on what’s left?? Frustrated fan here, who’s willing to put in my professional expertise - colorectal trained surgeon with the chance to “cut the crap.” LOL

its going to be a long 20 ish days but the potential amount of sports to follow in august will be worth the wait . nhl , mlb , nba then nfl 40 days later.
I'm also thrilled that in the process they extended the CBA 5-6 years .
Thanks god.

The NHL and NHLPA announced a signed memorandum of understanding on Monday on an all-encompassing string of bargained items, including a four-year extension to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Phases 3 and 4 of the Return-to-Play plan.
The MOU must be ratified by both the NHL’s board of governors and NHLPA’s full membership to become official, possibly by close of business this week.
Both votes are expected to pass handily. A two-thirds affirmative vote is required from the BOG, while a simple majority is required from the NHLPA. The entire membership will vote on the package, including players from the seven teams that are not participating in the league’s restart.

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
Nice.
I think one of the most brilliant things the NHL did was to go with two Canadian hub cities.
This just gave all things hockey a very "positive" feel moving forward.
Distant from all the distraction/disarray going on in the USA.
Not only is this good for the upcoming season, but I think it played into long-term planning.
Go Canada!
Bettman with the big brain play doing the "we have 10 cities possible to host" route. MLS and NBA pigeon holed themselves into Orlando very early in the process and Florida went to hell and they have to just deal with it. Where as NHL had multiple options and did everything in their power to get Vegas as a host but did the wise choice to not.
Bettman out here just taking care of business. With how much the NHL gets hated on with not promoting the sport, bad owners, boring social media footprint, the NHL gets things done. Like it's super interesting how Bettman just almost knows the leagues place and is fine with it as long as they aren't hated by their loyal fanbase.
