I'd be buying guns and ammunition based on significant cuts to police services (depending on where you live) and the potential of "peaceful" protesters coming to my neighborhood bearing ill intentions. Federal law enforcement isn't going to burn my business/property or attempt to arrest me unless I'm breaking the law.

The only thing cuts to the police will do is bring them back to their base function. No local police force needs a tank.

It is ironic that much of Trump's base are god-fearing 2nd Amendment types, yet have no issue with a Federal Army encroaching on state sovereignty...as long it's blue state, I suppose.

I agree, no police force should need a tank, but unfortunately the cuts will see the tanks stay and the reduction in police officers and/or training for them.

"Breaking the law" is quickly turning into "not doing what they say" as a reason for mistreating people.

This should be the case but is sadly not true. the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security has admitted as such stating:

The Department, because we don’t have that local law enforcement support, we are having to go out and proactively arrest individuals. And we need to do that because we need to hold them accountable. This idea that they can attack federal property and law enforcement officers and go to the other side of the street and say, “you can’t touch me,” is ridiculous.

Further in the interview he states:

-The police are using "probable cause" to identify suspects. - This is illogical as there is no correlation between the two.
-People are being questioned and detained based on their proximity to suspects - again not how it works.

Finally he tries to create a concept of "non-custodial arrest" to define people being detained, put into vans and driven away.

Trump and his lackeys want violence so they can justify further action. So they plan to send troops into places like Chicago. Chicago is not Portland. I imagine they will get the violencd they so desperately want. Will those troops stay in certain places to ensure "fair elections" in November? Things could get extremely bad over the next few months.
