after watching that Final, i just cant get over teh skill of these kids today, and teh shot that they have, its insane what they can do. yes the sticks are more flexible for teh shot speed, but teh accuracy and the placement is nuts.
that goal that was scored by CAN over teh Russian goalies shoulder was an absolute snipe and he had seconds to get that off into the tiny window..just insane!

If they do get to play together at U20 (far from a guarantee) the closest thing in history I can think of it reminding me of is Stamkos and Tavares in '08.

Has anyone watched Bedard play? We just had a meeting with someone who lives in Regina and says that he is a very talented player... but he is extremely lazy without the puck.

Guy is insane level of skill... I'd be much more interested in what his work ethic is in practice and outside the rink. To me that would be more telling... When you can single handedly win a game, motivation isnt the same.

A friend of mine knows one of the refs that ref in the WHL and in discussion with him these are some of the comments that they had on Bedard:
- his shot is the real deal - compared it to Auston Matthews
- Regina doesn't have much for complimentary players so at times he tries to do too much
- When he gets shut down by top defensive teams, he loses his cool pretty easily. When other teams D are shutting him down, they can get under his skin and get him off his game.
