Sometimes we just need to use our ability to think critically about this stuff.
Zero criticism of American, Russian, and Saudi oil and gas industry.
Access to conferences and speaking engagements that a 15/16/17 year old just can't get.
Ability to travel all over the world with seemingly unlimited resources.
Just take a step back and exam the inconsistencies in the messaging and consider the people behind exploiting a teenager might have an ulterior motive than the environment.
Example: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...hildren-rights
Of all the countries should could have singled out for children and humans rights violations, she chooses Canada and Norway. I mean. Lets just take a step back and consider the motivations here.
To be clear, I don't think Greta is a "demon child", but when you consider all the evidence it would be pretty irresponsible to not be skeptical.
I don't have access to Bloomberg articles unfortunately.
However she has criticized far more countries than that - the USA included.

I am really shocked at this level of conspiracy thinking from you to be totally honest.
Craig Kielburger at a similar, if not younger age was able to gain similar access and stage. Social media just didn't exist to the same extent at that time.
Based on that article.
Norway is Europe's #1 oil producing country - makes sense she would target it.
Canada worlds #2 crude oil producer & with the fracking - producing dirty oil. makes sense she would target Canada.
With the state of women's rights in Saudi Arabia - you can't send a 15 year old girl in front of a bunch of billionaire sheiks and princes.
You could create an argument she didn't focus enough on the US directly... BUT... expecting one child to successfully target every large oil producing/consuming country in one year is a little unrealistic.
it was a good initial surge for the movement. Momentum needs to be sustained and then built upon.
The fact that Naomi Klein so fully supports and endorses Greta makes oil money connections to Greta seem more like red herons than red flags.

Exploiting Greta is a right wing argument.
Having a teenager be passionate and get a national stage to put forth her position for moving toward green sustainable energy and away from oil doesn't automatically mean she has been exploited. It's the position of corporate America - especially gas & oil - to try and discredit her and change the narrative away from her arguments.

Anyways. I’m not going to argue a lot back and forth here. We can think critically or we can....not. Everyone has a choice to make about how intelligently they’d like to approach the problems in the world.
It's already been pointed out that she has indeed criticized the USA, and that being one of the key pillars of the conspiracy I think we can put it to bed unless more substantial evidence is released
"Mr President, what do you say to scared Americans?" "I say you are a terrible reporter. That is what I say."
Thank you sir. The country thanks you for your courage, leadership and strength in this difficult time.
