1.4 millions confirmed cases of Covid 19 in the U.S.. Over 80,000 deaths over the last few months. Currently the only country with a worse rate of infection is Spain, with 4800 people per million infected, vs the U.S. with 4300 people per million infected.

What a cluster fu*%.

How the 'greatest country in the world' could drop the ball so badly is almost incomprehensible. Even with the train wreck that is Trump and his administration you would think somehow they could have managed to at least mitigate this threat somewhat,... perhaps only be in the middle somewhere, or just one of the worst.

The level of ineptitude necessary to fail this badly boggles the mind, especially when the U.S. is so chalk full of highly educated and extremely talented people. Unfortunately, this administration and most of its supporters ignore the suggestions and opinions of such people. We can see the results of this all to plainly now.

Yeah. The actual ban had no real meat to it, as over half a million people have come to the US from China since the ban was enacted, but it makes for a good MAGA sound byte at least...

Trump has reported to be putting pressure on CDC to adjust the death totals. He wants the people who has presumed to have died from COVID without getting tested removed (the 90 yr old who presumed to have had it, but they didn't use a test on said person), and people who have died from COVID but have something else (COVID+Diabetes, cancer, asthma(?)),

This is to lower the death total numbers. And apparently the tests in the States have only 85% accurate. Where in Canada they recalled the "fast result" test that was 95% accurate (my friend just texted me this, I haven't googled this, but he's never just made up a COVID stat. Take it as it is)

Experts say the actual Coronavirus death toll numbers in the United States are too low. Trump wants to make them be reported lower.... Trump wants to, "massage the numbers to make inconvenient deaths go away" as per one reporter.
