Those numbers are very sobering, when comparing. There is going to be a lot more casualties in the coming months. Not sure if some of these states are opening up too soon and a second wave starts. People still have to be vigilant. Guess they are doing a cost benefit analysis of opening up economy vs casualties.

Stat 1 - further demonstrates how deadly COVID is.
Stat 2 - demonstrates how America should be taking this that much more serious. Those with heart disease are at higher risk of dying if they contract COVID. There's a lot more American's with heart disease each year than actually die from it.

I agree the Vietnam war is not all that relevant, but you invite this kind of stuff when you decide to call yourself a "war time president". And no matter how you slice it 60,000 deaths in two months is a lot.

I see the two stats as more of an eye opening experience on how this has hit USA. Soon it'll show WWI deaths (116,000-ish) vs COVID deaths.

While comparing large scales loss of life is useful to understand the scale of impact, it makes more sense to compare health pandemics from the same century:

H1N1 - 12,469 deaths – this was of course a disaster…

Biden/Obama were a disaster in handling the H1N1 Swine Flu. Polling at the time showed disastrous approval numbers. 17,000 people died unnecessarily and through incompetence! Also, don’t forget their 5 Billion Dollar Obamacare website that should have cost close to nothing!
