NHL pauses regular season because of coronavirus

This is all a great idea but it isn’t going to work. There is no way they can contain this - particularly in the states. The players hearts and heads won’t be in it because they are nervous about their families. As soon as a team at camp has a flare up it’ll all be over. My guess is the 20-21 season won’t happen either. Thanks China.

I'm looking forward to the return of hockey but I think this whole playoff situation around Covid is going to be interesting.

Bettman says there will be daily testing. If someone tests positive, they will be isolated. Imagine if a star player tests positive and can't play. I guess it would be similar to them getting injured but still, you have to think disaster for that team. Ugh.

"The NHL's preference would be that a home team doesn't play in its own hub," TSN's Bob McKenzie reported on Thursday's edition of "Insider Trading." "That is to say if Vegas were to be a hub, the Vegas Golden Knights wouldn't play in Vegas, they would play in the other hub. That's the preference."

McKenzie noted that Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Las Vegas are all still in the running to serve as hubs for the league's 24-team playoff. It’s my understanding one NHL club has had to temporarily close its training facilities during Phase Two because multiple players and some staff have tested positive for Covid-19.

I believe it’s three players and two staff who tested positive. Remaining players and staff are being tested. If no further positive tests, expectation is training facility will re-open, Phase Two will continue. If there are further positive tests, well, we will see what happens.

It won't be JT himself otherwise if he tests positive Toronto would be out. They'll bribe Brian Burke into it so he can bring his championship to Toronto... or something along those lines. Maybe Tavares or Marner has a long-lost half-brother that we don't know about?

You almost can't have the hub city be one of the Canadian cities

If its in Toronto then someone will make sure COVID 19 gets smeared all over the Montreal Canadiens pizza order.

Similarly if it happens in Edmonton or Vancouver - Calgary won't be able to order any meal without getting a COVID19 loaded pizza
