NHL Players Proposal:

Training Cam - Early July
End of 2019-2020 Season - Late July
Playoffs - August-September
Draft/FA - October
2020-21 Season Starts - October

2021 ASG Cancelled to make up games/Give a break for all players I think.

Helps with avoiding the mountainous escrow hit through revenue lost from ticket sales and lack of playoffs the players would face.

FWIW Bobby Mack was asked about this and didn't think it was feasible for the NHL to pull off.

Personally, I think we're either playing hockey in June-August or not at all. And its not looking good for the former.

Agreed. And I'll go so far as to say mcdavid needs points. I want to see how high he can get. We already lost half a season due to his injury, every game he misses for any reason is going to be on average a little more than one point off his total.

I want to see another 140+ season and he can do it, but he'll probably need all 82.

Dreger saying on TSN that the board of governors discussed playing July-September at the meeting today. 2020-2021 would be pushed back to November in that case.

It's laughable that these pro sports boards are targeting summer seasons right now imo. This thing is evolving so fast that any discussion of potential dates for rebooting the season is completely pointless.

YUP. Do like the CHL and end it. Life is bigger than sports. After this economic down turn, who is going to shell out dough for tickets anyhow. To those holding out some hope - it's time to let go of it. Hopefully the decision comes by the end of this week to cancel the season.

Returning July means June it's died down to the point of no discussion of an issue. Which means by May we're on this like white on rice. Which means dying down in April. And April is like next week.

A lot can happen. But man, July is ambitious.

These things can change rapidly. So far it's all been "bad" rapid changes but a good change can also happen. Vaccine, early detection, mass testing, proper procedures to avoid transmissions. Crazier things have happened.

The one thing made clear the past few weeks is we really don't know what tomorrow will bring.

If a vaccine can be made before July, the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine would have to go to the person who invented it. Honestly, whoever cracks that code for a vaccine should auto get that prize.‎
