P Kane is still good. Would be a keeper for me. Yes, sell Marner but I would not move Laine. Does he value D like you do? Move Marner and a D or perhaps Lindholm if you can for Svech.
Hi Team,
I am trying to acquire Svechnikov. My league starts 6 forwads, positions do not matter. 4 d which get extra points for G&A's. Goals are worth more then assists and we get points for Pims.
Currently I think my keepers will be Eichel, Marner, Laine, Guentzel, S Jones, Dumba, Pulock and Ekblad.
I know some of you may see Kane and Klingburg but I want to move them this off season as there are still extremely good players and I want to get max value while I still can. I am not keeping a goalie, I never have and never will. In my league they are the least valuable position. D are the most valuable.
So back to the point of this post. Who would you move to get Svechnikov. The owner said Marner and Laine. I laughed and told him to go away. he doesn't seem to have interest in Kane.
I am pondering including Marner as he is heavy on assists and gets no Pims.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Rep when I can.

Marner is about equal to Svech in value, so having to add from your side doesn't make sense.

Keep P Kane!
This is easy enough to look at the numbers to make a decision being a points league, so let's do so.
First off, I left out overtime goals and shootout goals as they aren't the easiest to confirm and are pretty random so won't make a major difference.
All points are extrapolated over 82 games to show each players pace that year regardless of injuries.
Current Season (2019-2020):
Laine - 176 Fpts
Marner - 186 Fpts
Svechnikov - 198 Fpts
Best Season:
Laine (2017-2018) - 200 Fpts
Marner (2018-2019) - 204 Fpts
A couple of additional points:
- All have high S% and 5 on 5 S%, so are likely playing a little above their potential which is good for an apples to apples comparison above
(Laine's 5 on 5% is very high, his numbers are the most inflated this season as well as during his best season)
- Marner has shown solid growth and consistency throughout his career (positive relative corsi and fenwick)
- Laine has shown a lot of inconstancy and an inability to drive a line (negative relative corsi and fenwick)
- Svechnikov shows great potential and appears to be able to drive a line (positive relative corsi and fenwick)
The takeaway from the above is that all three are pretty close, but I would pretty easily rank them as follows:
Marner > Svechnikov > Laine
So moving Marner and Laine for Svechnikov is just ridiculous. Given that was the price he threw out there, I don't think it's worth negotiating with him.
Now is a great time to sell high on Laine though. I would easily package Laine and someone for him, depending on what the plus is. I'm not a believer that Laine will be a consistent high-end producer. Being goal heavy helps him in this league, but I think he needs strong linemates to help drive his line and he can disappear for long stretches.
Looking at your keepers I can't help but wonder why you want to acquire Svechnikov right now. He would take the place of someone who's just about as valuable in your format.
Why not focus on trying to find a better defender? Seems to me you can more easily improve your keepers on the blue line
The biggest question for me is why your keeping a 35 point dman with 14 pim over Patrick kane or klingberg (a perennial 50 point dman who is only 27 years old)?
