I see Coach Tippett trying different combinations, but I would think he would come back with McDavid/Kassian at some point - as you said, there seemed to be a little chemistry there.
Used him quite effectively and dropped just before the suspension, with the additions of Ennis and Athanasiou, where does the tough guy play when he comes back? Does he have the legs to remain on the speedster line with Athanasiou and McDavid? There seemed to be chemistry/ fit there before... with Edmonton endlessly shifting line mates what do people think? I didn't seen any of the Edmonton game last evening.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary, full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen." - Sterling Archer

“Anyone who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword has not been stabbed with both.” - Lemony Snicket
This is what I would be doing, or at least thinking what the Oilers are likely to do.
With current injuries (and Kassian back)
.........................
McDavid / Kassian / Athanasiou
Draisaitl / Nugent-Hopkins / Ennis
Sheahan / Chiasson / Archibald
Should / Never / See Ice
Without injuries
--------------------
McDavid / Kassian / Athanasiou
Draisaitl / Ennis / Yamamoto
Nugent-Hopkins / Chiasson / Neal
Khaira / Sheahan / Archibald
^^ Splitting up McDavid, Draisaitl, and RNH onto three lines is what the Oilers as a team need to do for sustained playoff success.

Kassian knows his role with skill players, crash the net. He will bounce around but I bet he gets his shot again he was very solid for a duration of time with the big guns.

Hard to say. He was down on the 3rd line at the time of his suspension so theres no guarantee he'll be back with McDavid right away.

It's worth noting before his suspension he was being played lower in the lineup, with reduced ice time. I'm thinking we'll see more of that, until the next line shake-up.

AA is hurt now, I think Ennis stays with Mcd and Archibald might see the other side of that line with Kassian going back to 3rd line.

Did he hurt himself attempting to turn around and backcheck?

FWIW McDavid was asked during his draft year at some point which NHLer he considered to be his ideal linemate. His answer was Lucic and the Oilers of course eventually went out and grabbed him. Didn't work out, but Kassian did and Holland just gave him the biggest contract of his career.
McD seems to prefer having a strong physical presence to create space, net front chaos and respond to the cheap shots he has to endure every shift.

Might be a swing and a miss on my part Kassian's on the third line at practice

1) It follows Kassian's line trend pre-suspension, as I stated
2) It's only one set of line combinations, coaches change all the time
