I think it was about a day after I drafted Severino last year that I was hit with similar news. That was a main factor in derailing my season, combined with moderate to long lost time for a bunch of my other pitchers, ie. Paxton and Kershaw I believe. Shit happens.
Only way I can think of to limit preseason injury woes significantly would be to move to a live draft shortly before the season begins, but I think we've discussed that and decided on this.

Oh yes unfortunately that will always be an issue. I was being tongue in cheek with my original comment asking to re-pick because it was kind of unprecedented.
But this was a bit different because it was announced within 20-30 minutes of my pick AND the next person hadn't picked yet. Even though it is incredibly rare to have those things all line up and happen in a draft....I would be ok making that rule for next year haha.

I was about to get Sale over Alvarez, but I saw he had a BP session and I was kinda hoping I'd hear it went well before my pick. But didn't so I decided not to wait.
Had to go with Vlad. He disappointed me last yr (but I should have realized he was just a rookie, I had too high expectations), hoping for this yr as his breakout.

Ideally we're able to get through HF's next two picks before he needs to sign off around 4:30 pm, which would probably allow us to push 3/4 of the way through Round 7 tonight, which would be a solid pace for the day. Just random thoughts while I wait for a conference call to begin.
