Mantha for Debrincat?

Earlier this month I traded my free agent pickup rust for debrincat, now im getting inquiries on him.

I was offered
Anthony mantha + 1st round selection (1-16) and 3rd round pick (33-48) in prospect draft

I would personally take that deal and run but I'm not in any Salary leagues. It would be good to know the cats and details of league though - for example if you have hits, Mantha is much more likely to throw his body as hes a lot bigger.

Mantha is a top line winger now on a Wings side who are pretty average but could be very good in a few years if they get the picks they need. To add to it you get a 1st rounder and 3rd... I would personally make the trade in *most* leagues without the picks.

My league counts hits, pims, takeway, ppg and ppa separately ontop of normal goals and assists. as well as +/- so its pretty deep catagories.

talked to another member in the league and he thinks id be winning that trade as well as this gm doesnt seem to build a great team so that 1st rounder could easily be top 5.

Neither is really a gritty guy, but Mantha does get some PIM, and hits a bit more.

DeBrincat is set up for 6.4M for 3 years after this. The unknown here is Mantha's future contract, but I like him in your format. I suspect his contract ends up similar to DeBrincat's dollar value.

If that pick has a good chance of being a high pick, and it sounds like it does, I'd take it. Nice job turning Rust into a first rounder plus a good player.

1-16 is a pretty wide margin for error there for that 1st round pick. Where do you think this pick lands? Is he a last place team? If so, then you dont need to go to the area of 16th overall. Is he a top team? Then clearly the 1st is probably not an option. If the draft were today, what pick would it be? Same for the 3rd round pick.

I wont lie, I like Debrincat a lot more than Mantha, even though Mantha should gain more dirty cats.
