Trading Pettersson

This guy has been trying to pry Pettersson from my hands since I drafted him in the 8th round of our inaugural dynasty league 2 years ago. the top end of my team is pretty good. I am aiming to seriously contend next year though I am in 6th place right now and could possibly get in the money with a little extra grit and goals. Thing is me and Pettersson have formed a great relationship over the past couple years.... Looking for a voice of reason here fellas.

His Offer

Jamie Benn + Alex Ovechkin + Tyson Jost for my Elias Pettersson + Jordan Kyrou

He said if this doesn't do it to counter with what will.

I am looking at having him switching Tyson Jost with Podkolzin but still hesitant.

If you got Podkolzin instead of Jost, and then moved Benn in the offseason for two Fs like Palmieri and Nuge, then I would really like where you would be at.

I like your take..

Turning Pettersson into Ovechkin + Podkolzin, Palmeri and Nuge would be pretty good, 3 years later I might miss him dearly with Ovi likely back in Russia but likely would have some big money wins by then and Podkolzin with the some quality players would make it hurt less.

Pettersson only has so much value in a league that counts HITS. I get he's on about a 70 hit pace, but Ovie is still the MC-King.
I think Benn will need to improve significantly on his 40pt pace to get a return of Palmeri & RNH though. i don't see you getting that much for him. TBH.

Benn just keeps declining so I wouldn't want him and it will only become harder and harder to move him long term.

See what else he would give with Ovi if he is that in love with EP.

It's a fair trade and not a home run. I honestly think Benn is going the way of the Perry but who know's if he bounces back a little it would swing the trade in your favor. If I am going for the win I want Ovi, so fire away.

Benn at age 30 would be on the early side of the declining Power Forward trend. Thing is I always thought he was a different type of power forward in the Wheeler tier.. but I guess not.

If he thinks that lowly of Benn, have him thrown in the deal and be patient in flipping him for a profit.

I am more of the mind that "If he is giving you Ovi+ for EP, how high can you get the plus" Can you get a good dman thrown in too, or maybe upgrade another forward position with a lesser forward? Just see how far he will push it as Ovi will be awesome for probably 3 more years and then will start to decline even more (I think he heads to Russia when he is 38-40 for a final season or two like Datsyuk)
