I'm looking for goalie help and another deal I had fell through, so we started looking at this.

    Eichel
    A. Nylander
    Kaliyev

    For

    Larkin
    Samsonov
    Danault

I love Eichel.. Larkin is solid in this set up (but lacks the offensive upside of JE). Samsonov is still a gamble, but coming by goaltending is very difficult as well (not 1 goalie on the wire - unless we have faith in Neuvirth signing and becoming a legit #1 hah).

Looking for goalie help, and you want to trade Eichel so you can get a back up? I guess I'd have to see the rest of your team to understand this thought process...

So he came back with another counter of,

    Larkin
    Danault
    Samsonov

    For

    Eichel
    A. Nylander
    Caufield

I feel like with Caufield in there I'm giving up quite a bit.

I'd scratch this trade and I love Larkin in this setup. Eichel is just better still at this stage and I wouldn't trade away the best player. Don't get caught up in the supporting cast. The main part of the deal you're losing so I'd need to start from scratch here.

Generally we don't want to trade offensive stars for goalies (not always). The main reason for this is year to year consistency. Star forwards are significantly more consistent for your fantasy team than goalies year to year. Especially not a backup goalie that may or may not pan out.

If we're talking Larkin and a legit starter I'm more inclined to listen. Otherwise find another piece on your team to upgrade your keeper situation.

Here is my 2 cents. Eichel is better than Larkin. I see A. Nylander as having way more potential than Danault. Now you do need a goalie but you are not even getting a starter in return in Samsonov. Basically you are trading two big time prospects. I just don’t see how this is a win for you.

I'm fine with the initial deal, as Samsonov is just about the hottest goalie prospect around... and he's in the NHL now.

Caulfield has a bit too much hype value as a recent draftee to do that. I'd see what you can do to keep him out of it, or get an upgrade on Danault.

Last one.. this doesn't involve a goalie but is an interesting offer,

    Jack Hughes 925k
    Claude Giroux 8m
    Evander Kane 8m

    For

    Mitch Marner 16m
    Jack Eichel 10m

Kane is a beast with my categories, I save a ton of cap.. I do hate the idea of moving Eichel and Marner.

What does the savings in cap get you? Who can you add to make up for what you're losing?

    Foligno
    Johansson
