    Default Shattenkirk expectations this year

Give me your prediction. Best offensive team, coming after 2 down years and a big injury. Does he bounce back? Big question mark is does he get a spot on PP1? If so, that would boost his totals by 10 points at least. Bolts have gone 4F 1D for as long as I remember and I don't see Hedman losing his spot.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

    Hedman, McDonagh, Sergachev, Shattenkirk.

That's some tough choices on PP deployment but Hedman is in a class of his own. I can see 35 from Shattenkirk and a great late round flyer, but he reminds me of Parise, lots of name with a memory of past glory.

Hard to trust him other than a late round flier. I see him at about 30 points due to the log jam at Defense in Tampa.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. He might get looks here and there on PP1 depending on how the year plays out. He's a guy I'd draft lower and hope for a better outcome, rather than expecting a lot going in.

Thanks guys. Ya, too many cooks in the kitchen, although only Hedman is ahead in terms of offensive skills. If Shattenkirk gets PP1 time, he could bounce back to mid 40s with solid peripherals. He would be my 5th dman - in a start 4 d league - if I take him.

Sorry to hijack. I picked up Shattenkirk yesterday with the hopes of him playing for his next contract.

For my league I have the following Ds on FA.. Girard, Schultz, H. Lindholm, Butcher, Niskanen, Myers, Seabrook, Hanifin, Pionk. Would you take any of them over Shattenkirk (Blocks and Hits are cats also).

    Thanks

Hedman has never really been a great PP1 QB - his handedness messes up set ups with Stammer on the PP. TB has always experimented with other D on that first unit.

Yet Tampa had the best PP last year and been top in the league for the last 3 years with Hedman being the PP QB. It's hard to see him ousted by Shattenkirk but it's not entirely impossible.

Despite sucking and missing 12 games Hedman finished T-5th in PPP last year among defensemen.

I won't be drafting him. I will likely let someone else buy his name value in the draft and then wait until he is dropped.

If healthy and plays PP1 then over 40 points easy
If not, struggles to crack 30 points.

Looking at his career.. only unproductive seasons were with NYR and I don't recall a D in that team that contributed offensively. I'm hoping he'll rebound to the STL / COL form. He's 30 so shouldn't be on the decline already...

I'm hoping for 30 points and some decent shot totals in my deep multicat cap dynasty. I doubt he shoots as terribly as he did last year.

Since he got bought out, his salary means I can stream him up & down from minors, so just thinking he'll be adequate depth. I traded for him once he was bought out, gave up Cody Ceci for him.
