Draft Advice(Will Rep)

Hi Guys, I am in a 14 team league which keeps 15 keepers. The majority of the teams have kept 2 Goalies leaving the draft very thin at Goalie. I have the 8th selection in the draft this upcoming Sunday. The categories for the Goalies are as follows: W, GAA, SV%, SHO.

So I am one of the few who didn't have good Goalies from last season and only kept 1 Goalie and that Goalie was Semyon Varlamov. So I am using my 1st Round(8th) pick on a Goalie. My question is the best two Goalies that are available are Carey Price and Philip Grubauer. Who should I pick with that pick? Really the only other starting option is Carter Hutton so obviously he is not an option.

Give me Price over Grubauer. You'll need to improve on Varly, as even though he's the big money guy if Greiss plays well Trotz will give him 35+ starts - look at last year, when Lehner was a Vezina finalist and still barely had more starts than Greiss, who also happens to be playing for a new deal, giving him added motivation to play well.

Give me Price over Grubauer. Definitely agree with all of that. Price is your first target for sure, then Grubs. I feel like Markstrom and Mrazek are also undervalued if either happens to be available.

If they both go in top 7 picks... who's left? I would imagine there would be some decent handcuff 1a/1b options. A bit more of a dice roll trying to pick the one that lands 60% of starts...

Markstrom and Mrazek were both kept. 12 out of the 14 teams kept 2 Goalies so there is only one other team that has one Goalie on there team like myself. The only other starter in this mix is Carter Hutton and he is not in the same tier as Price and Grubs. So if they Price and Grubs go before my 8th pick my draft strategy will automatically change to picking a Defense like Makar or Hronek or a Forward like Zucker, Jack Hughes,Kakko or Hischier. There are 8 of them and I am guaranteed one of those players.

There are also the 1a/1b type and if worse come to worse I will go down that road. I also have Saros on my radar for a draft pick.

I will rep the rest of you when it allows me.

Let's hope that at least one of the two will be available at 8. We are know who Carey Price is and what hes capable of. I like Grubby's potential on that Colorado team a lot, but the most games he started in a season is 37.. can he be a workhorse and play more than 55 games and be good? He has no competition on the team which is good though. Let's say that Price and Gurbby will finish with the same sv% and SOs. It will be up to Wins and GAA to decide who gets the split decision victory. I would probably go with Price. GL!
