Can Talbot return to old form?
I drafted him as my #2 G in hopes that he can return to 16-17 season starting 73 games. I'd even take 17-18 numbers if he can repeat them with Cgy. Do I stick with him for a month or so or grab a FA ASAP.

I'd dump him for Varlamov 100%
Sure, Talbot has immense upside if he manages to take over #1 or 1A duties for CGY, but Varlamov is a lot safer and playing in a great system.
I'd probably rank those guys: Varlamov > Raanta > Lundqvist > Quick > Talbot (with upside). He's a waiver-wire option in your league since there are many legit #2 options available in free agency. Just keep an eye on Talbot.

Would much rather own Varly and Raanta. And with less gusto would prefer quick.

I'd prefer Raanta over Talbot though..
I think Raanta, Talbot are in similar situations, just opposite sides of the coin.
Entering a 1a 1b situation - Talbot's the B side of the starter gig in CGY - Raanta the A (meaning it's technically his gig to lose)

I'd definitely take Varly over Talbot. Don't see him getting the workload over Rittich.

Varly for me, too. Should do pretty well on a team that is very Defense oriented. I don't think Talbot ever goes back to how he was.

Varlamov is by far the best choice here.
Raanta is better than Talbot IMO.

73 Games isn't likely happening even if Rittich gets hurt. I prefer Raanta & Varlamov over him for sure, and it depends on how things look early for the rest..
