Hey just curious about the hawks defence this year. Its clear that guys like Seabrook, Vandermeer and Barker will play big roles... but who else is gonna step up??? Really who I am interested in is Steve Marr. He played a big role with Barker in Medicine Hat which is the reason I am assuming Chi was interested in bringing him over in the Aucoin trade. ANy speculation or news from the area??? Any chances of Steve making the team?

You\'re correct in that Marr was requested specifically because of his chemistry with Barker in the WHL. He has Vandermeer upside, but isn\'t anywhere close to making the team right now.

Ya I didn\'t think so, but I\'m hoping the Barker thing might help him make that jump, give him the confidence he needs to really hunker down and focus on working as hard as he can. How do you think there defence is going to be this year?

id say the barker thing isnt gonna help him make the team as from what i saw from barker hes gonna be a third pairing guy with power play time as he still has to learn the ropes himself...like last year the two main gys on hawks D will be Seabrook and Keith
