I think with load management becoming more of a commonplace approach across the NHL, it becomes even more important to lock up the talented starters who are a good bet to play 50+ games on the top teams. The number of elite workhorse goalies is declining every year it seems.

I am embarassed by my Teravainen pick.... I must admit I was watching ball all weekend and just going off of memory. Looking at it now I definitely passed over some much better category coverage to land Teravainen. He doesn't hit much and he doesn't shoot a bunch... definitely a bad choice by me at this point in the draft!

Im finding it harder to make my picks. Not because the talent is getting thinner, but quite the opposite. There's almost still too much to choose from. I looked at 4 different guys before finally settling on Radulov.

Radulov was on our list too. But I agree, so many names left and tough to know who is going to slip without any kind of ADP data.

I agree. It’s interesting, from the Rookie standpoint — this being my first “slow” draft — that having more time in between means I don’t just knee-jerk, and actually realize how many really good players there are, after the elite superstars.

    It's definitely a great exercise

Agreed. Really gives you a better sense of the positional scarcity and values/strategies of other GMs going into the season.

Exactly. I wouldn’t be against using C/LW/RW next year instead of just F.

Going to wait a couple hours for Finny to confirm as we lost a few guys from our list in the last few picks.

We could definitely do this. When we were setting it up last year we just went with forward because of player eligibility on the site. However as we are drafting this year I am noticing that players have there additional eligibility already... so we could have done it!

Now that Grubauer has been selected I’m curious to know what the majority thinks for next season only....

    Carter Hart or Philipp Grubauer

Next season only, probably Grubauer. The thing about Hart is that he's got immense long-term value, but we should expect some growing pains as he adjusts to a starter's workload in the NHL. Plus, I think Grubauer is just on a flat-out more exciting team.

I considered Grubauer over Hart mostly because of Colorado’s potential to win a boat load of games but I don’t feel he has shown enough yet. I know that sounds contradicting since I went with a very green Hart but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Grubauer pull a Talbot, or worse a Darling.
