As you said mediocre for now though Varly could flourish in Trotz's system. You are basically waiting for Saros to take the reigns.
Salary keeper league in signature. Goalies in my league are like gold. One G start per day. That said, G cost an arm and a leg in trade. I like Varlamov and Mrazek this year better than last year. And Saros....its the waiting game.
I currently have:
Varlamov
Mrazek
Saros
Husso
Primeau
Jarry
For the next few years I am mediocre. But have hope for the future. Opinions? Should I mortgage the farm for a better goalie or wait? I won two years ago, and have a average age team mixed with veterans and young players. So window is still open.

Varlamov, Mrazek, Saros isn't all that bad. You've got a couple 1A goalies on solid defensive teams, and a backup with elite upside for the future. It could be a lot worse.

Sums it up nicely and I agree. It could be much worse. You're kind of banking on Varlamov for this season but the way goalies go and how things played out last season, almost no one is really all that safe with their goalies.

In a 20 team, start 1 G set up, I think you are just fine as it is. I wouldn't overpay for an upgrade.
I agree with the group... and with the lockout looming, DO NOT mortgage the future... you are middling now, so play it very young, and in 2 years, Saros will be your man, and by then we may finally know what we have in Mrazek. You could be be sittin pretty actually! In fact, I would look to sell at your 2020 trade deadline to the front runners going all in... get some nice draft picks or budding prospects.

I like those goalies, actually, especially starting 1. I believe in Saros & Mrazek, and Korn/Trotz. You also have some youth behind them.
I know bad goaltending, and that's not it.
