    Default JT Miller projection

What should I expect to get if I'm acquiring JT Miller? I have 3 players in TO and I have a possible deal to move Kapanen and 3rd rnd entry draft pick for JT Miller. On the surface this seems like a good move, JT could be in a good spot but what's realistic projection for his output this season? I'm having to take on some cap space to get him and I'm wondering if I can expect it to pay off. This is for league in sig.

TBH I feel like a 60 point pace is going to be Miller's floor this year. I think he's going to be playing with a lot of motivation to prove people that he's not just a cap dump. Not to mention Vancouver will want to utilize him to his strengths in order to make their decision to trade a first rounder for him justified. I think he sees time on that top unit and top powerplay.

That's a very exact range haha!

I also think it's a little optimistic. I would expect closer to 55 points.

He's a steady eddy floating around 55-60pts. Would have been in that range or higher if he didn't get buried in TB's depth chart.
I can't put him above 60pts as Van's depth is too thin - he does have that upside if someone surprises in camp and creates 3rd line scoring depth (I'm looking directly at you two - Gaudette & Virtanen)

Thanks for the input so far guys. That would be a modest improvement on Kapanen assuming all things stay the same in Toronto. PP usage would probably put it over the top though, Kapanen barely saw any time there and I assume it's safe to say that JT should feature on the pp for VAN.

50-60 range seems fair. He should be the net-front presence on the PP though which could bode well for him with the Alien doing his thing.

I suspect Kapanen will end up in the 50-60pt range this year two. 44 in his 1st season in primarily 3rd line role... hmm.
Yeah, there's the rumour AM doesn't want him on his line... hope this is either false or just a style of play preference.
But with Hyman out for the first couple months to start - Kappy should see some JT time.
Leafs 2nd PP is as good as 50% of the leauges PP1's

They're basically a wash TBH. points wise, but if and a bit IF Marner walks on an offer sheet... there's a gaping hole on L-2 with Tavares either Johnsson or Kapanen will fill

I also own Marner and Johnsson. Part of my incentive is to diversify so I don't have so much wrapped up in Toronto. Kapanen was also used on the PK quite a bit, I think without Hyman he sees an increase in those minutes. He definitely seemed to get the less favorable deployment and with the talent ahead of him on the right side I feel pretty good about making this move. At worse it's a wash but I'm not sitting a third of my lineup on Toronto's off days.

yeah, it is very specific...I've been thinking a lot about Miller's potential in Vancouver since the trade. I'm not sure he plays regular minutes with Pettersson. I think he could crack 60, but only barely and a lot has to go right for him to do that.

55 pts is certainly more realistic, hence why I said "he could" get around 62-63 pts. Splitting hairs a bit, but I don't see him getting over 65 even under the best of circumstances. Hope I'm wrong, but I just think no one on Vancouver besides Pettersson gets over 65 (Pettersson will probably be just over 70, I think).

From what I've heard the reason Miller was pushed down the depth chart in TB was more to do with effort level than ability. He's got legit top six talent but apparently can drive his coaches crazy for not always playing the right way. If he put the pedal down game in and game out he'd probably stick on a top line and have 70pt upside.

The rumour of Ferland getting signed kind of muddies the water a little bit in my opinion.

That's a done deal now. Should be fine though, I think the top minutes are Miller's to lose, hopefully this is motivation as well as depth that gives them some options against opposing defenders.

I'm also expecting 60pts at best : the fact that Miller got buried on TB's roster is not because of his skill level but because he wouldn't (couldn't?) put it all together consistently. It might a stretch to believe he all of a sudden will explode in VAN when he couldn't do that in TB.
    I'd expect 60pts +/- 5.
