That's the order I go with as well.
Hi guys,
I have 3 contracts to give for the next season (keepers for 1, 2 & 3 year) to these 3 stud D-men (Burns, Carlson and Hedman).
League in signature, points only, no salary cap.
I thought about :
Hedman - 3 years
Burns - 2 years
Carlson - 1 year
What do you think?
Thank you in advance

I would put Hedman as the bottom of the three. So assuming you don't want to tie yourself into Burns for too long, I would go with Carlson - 3, Burns - 2, Hedman - 1.

Interesting. Thank you Eskimo and SeaDawg for your reply. In fact, I want to be as competitive as possible every year. but I admit that I think Burns will eventually regress soon and Hedman production is not really stable.
I think Hedman is a gamble, Burns is the best but should regress eventually and Carlson... well, I don't know what to think about him haha
They will all be productive next season ... so the question is who will be the most productive in 3 years?

Carlson is only 29 (less than one year older than Hedman), and has his 68/70 points in the last two season. He's my pick.

I like EB's suggestion here. Carlson should hit high 60s to low 70s with ease and has age on his side. So he gets the three year contract over Burns who could see his production slip as he ages. I still think he's the best option for the next 2 years though so he gets that contract. Sucks you can only lock Hedman up for one year, but the other two are just the better options at this point.
Without me, it's only "aweso".
I like Burns for 2yrs. I don't mind him for 3 either. I mean... he's a 75+pt Dman. If his production slips 20% he's still a 60+pt Dman.
Carlson/Burns 2-3yrs
Hedman 1.

Good point. I'll see if I can use Hedman to improve my team via a trade.
