It doesn't look good for him but unless there's some major new facts to come out I highly doubt anything comes of this. It's a video showing him and some stuff. We don't know who bought it and who was consuming. It also helps that he's a star with a big contract and not a bottom-six interchangeable guy.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if cocaine is widely consumed by NHL players. For a long time now we have heard rumors and accusations that the NHL's substance abuse testing is sub-par and doesn't include testing for certain "stimulants". I assume cocaine is something they routinely test for, but I really don't know. I've also heard that most players getting tested know well in advance when the test is to occur, and therefore know to avoid using the drugs long enough in advance for any trace to leave their system.

Even if he tests positive on a drug test, he can do some rehab in the offseason and then be back for training camp.

Lots of circumstantial evidence in that video - was it cocaine? Was it his? Was he actually using it or the guy taking the video? Etc etc think he’ll actually dodge any sanction here

Do people really think that NHL players don't use cocaine on a regular basis? These are young multi-millionaires out partying the night away. It also doesn't stay in your system near as long as a lot of other drugs. (2-4 days for urine test). I would be surprised if it was any less than 1-in-5 NHLers who do blow and that's a conservative estimate.

One of the things I've learned at 28yrs old is that cocaine is used a lot more than 14yr old me would have thought. It's honestly the perfect drug athletes to use. Doesn't stay in the system long, if not used in large doses there's no real hangover, no smell. Big thing is keeping the problem in check, and I've seen you can be a "weekend user" of cocaine which 14yr old mean would never have thought was a possibility.
