this must be a troll job?
This is in a typical salary cap dynasty league 12 teams but Assists are worth a tad more than goals.
The deal culminated to this
- Tukka Rask
- Henrik Borgstrom
- 2nd round pick (14th) 2019
For his
- William Nylander
Seeing what he paid to get him in the first place, looks like i paid a lot less than he did. Nylander’s salary goes down next season at 5.6M if I’m not Mistaken rather than his current 10M
Have I over paid? Seems fair? Or am i worst than the Hamburgler?
I can find another goalie, Borgstrom was a let down imo and I own pick #2, #14(originally), #15, #16 and more down the road.
Thoughts?

It would be nice to know your exact league setup and what the rest of your roster looks like.
To me, it's an overpayment. I think you have given up too early on Borgstrom based on a very small sample size and you gave up a top goalie as well. Then a pick on top of it.
As I say, without all the details, its hard to guage this trade but my initial reaction is yes, you over paid. I am not sure I would have traded Rask straight up for him, let alone adding what you added.

Price is currently on our free agency list so I was planning on using the extra cap space to grab him up for free. I may have jumped the boat early on Borgstrom but my backup centres are graduating soon so I felt like I could spare him especially since I might be getting Hughes this upcoming draft. I’ll be drafting 5-6 times in the first and second round so I plan on picking up a goalie in there as well. I still have quick as my second goalie, georgiev as a rookie. Now all I need is to grab price and it’ll look like I gave up Borg and Rask for Nylander and Price.
In my opinion, Nylander > Borg, Price = Rask
Nylander's cap is 6.9 next season. Something you need to know before making a trade in a cap league.
Nylander 6.9m vs. Borgstrom 1m
Price 10.5m vs Rask 7m
If Nylander actually takes the expected step forward next year... then it could be worth it.
I'd be interested to know what your salary cap is and which cap system you use - actual salaries, cap hit etc...

Cap hit and the cap is gonna be 119M next season. I’m one of the weaker teams of the league so I’ve been rebuilding my roster for 2 years now. I currently have 17M freed up as we speak not counting the contracts I’m about to be dropping this off-season. I have a few other contracts I need to figure out like Laines renewal. I missed our initial draft day so I ended up inheriting a team that was auto drafted. I have guys like Lucic, Wennberg and Foligno to wait out before being somewhat competitive. In 3-4 years if all goes to plan I’ll have names like Laine, Mantha, Hughes or Kakko, Kravtsov, RyJo, Nylander, Hedman, Weber, Yandle, and I expect to be picking top 4 those next 3-4years also.
Should be interesting.

Here’s the roster to date.
I’ll also be picking up korpisalo or attempt to pick up during the off-season
feels like a sell low on borg, buy high on nylander….especially considering what a crappy year nylander had last year. if I were rebuilding, i'm not sure nylander is the kind of player I would have targeted.
Take this comparison lightly but this is what frozen tool has to say

I was comparing both rookie season and Nylander seemed like a no brainer to me. Has also C,RW eligibility and shoots like there’s no tomorrow compared to Borg. I’ve said this before but my league does count assists heavily over goals themselves. A goal is 24pts where as an assist is 46pts. PPG is 5 and PPA is 66. It’s a really weird setup
Here’s a few examples of our setup
