He has no leverage to ask for a trade. He'll be forced to work out of his funk on his own and earn his minutes. He's been a basket case as a "#1" goalie.
Next season, still behind Jordan B or ask to be traded?
Two more seasons at 4.35M....could be a starter elsewhere?

People in STL have really soured on Allen, especially with the emergence of Binnington.
Hard to see how they move him with that contract and his current play. Agree with above, he'll have to work out of this funk before he can be moved....or if Binnington comes back to earth in a Jim Carey fashion
Goaltending is more random than it has been in any time I've been following hockey closely so there is plenty of time for Allen to regain form and reclaim the net. No goalie is safe from long droughts including Binnington. In fact Allen's current position more closely resembles his situation when he was breaking into the NHL and he fared much better in the more limited role. He won't be handed a #1 gig from another team but he's far from dead as an NHL goalie.

He's starter quality.... in the AHL.
He's a NHL level backup, tandem guy at best.
Want a Signature? Go to Settings, and you'll find Edit Signature down the list on the left.
I expect him to start the season as a back-up that gets a lot of ice. Sort of like Halak in Boston this year. Billington has been great but still a small sample size and we all know how quickly things can turn for a goalie. For better or worse.
If Winnington stops anything to start next season Allen will be a back up. A good tandem to own though. I can see Berube wanting to manage Binn's game load in his 1st full NHL season, especially if they win another round. Allen could still see 30+ starts
