    Hey All,

Is anyone else falling in love with the potential that Robert Thomas has shown this year? My specialty isn't the analytics side of things, but from the eye test, he looks like a player. Just wondering what is his floor and ceiling for points only is? I think his floor is 55+ points with his ceiling being a PPG player in 4ish years. Thoughts?

He's going to be really, really, really good. I love him too. Deeply. (Seriously).
The word isn't completely out on him yet because he's not flashy.
Just watch him score - he doesn't celebrate. (*Acts like he's been there before and will again & again).
There are a few other prospect evaluaters that also think the world of him.
[It's a compliment to yourself if you see it... many people don't/won't... until it's too late!!!]

    Yes, I think he'll do 70-90pts from Year3-Year13.

He's gonna be awesome in straight-points leagues.
But it's possible he won't be electric in multi-cat... maybe more like Logan Couture.

While I agree with you guys, he definitely needs to shoot more. I hope it's just him being deferential as a 19-year old.

Thought I'd bump an old thread today.

Robert Thomas (STL) is up to 14th in the NHL in scoring.
If you look at the 13 players in front of him... and 6 behind him (Reinhart, Tkachuk, Point, Kaprizov, Crosby, Makar)... it comes into focus how incredible he has been.

People that have done fantasy pooling with me over last 5-7 years know how much of a kind of P7-type player he is.
Unflashy, smart, consistent, does everything right in way that isn't "highlight reel" at all.

    68pts in 59gp.
[I'm not sure people are even aware how FAR beyond Kyrou & Buchnevich he's been scoring at! And that team leading +/- on a "minus" team. A-mazing. Click.]

    Love seeing this guy emerge.
When Giroux & Pavelski retire... this is my favourite player.

I love that I was wrong about his upside... it's starting to look more like... dare we say... 95 (!?!)... and if he were ever to get a bonafide supersniper... oh baby.

Seems like Thomas is flying under the radar with the 95-point pace he's on. I was looking at Dobber profile recently and didn't realize he is 6' 220. He's a thick boy. Wish he threw around that size a little more.

Just an observation here, but I'm not so certain Thomas's ascension is under the radar or something that wasn't to be expected. Dobber should be paying me for this (insert the smiley face) but, if you look at Thomas's projection in last year's guide you will see a 90 pt upside with a 78 pt 3YP; this year's guide, a 92 pt upside and 77 3YP. Well, the 3 YP was pretty much bang on for last year but this year Thomas should exceed the projected 77 pts. Bottom line though, the upside is looking more and more to be bang on as Thomas hits his prime. We all know the guide is arguably pretty optimistic when projecting upside but, in some cases, and Thomas could very well be one, the upside is in fact correct. I should have archived a bunch of previous Guides, but I didn't, but it would be interesting to go back 4 or 5 years and see what Thomas's projected numbers look like. It wouldn't surprise me if the projected upside was pretty damn close.

THX! A bit low on upside in fact which is interesting. Still, 80 pt upside is nothing to sneeze at when it actually happens. I'd guess that over his prime years Thomas scores at the 80 - 90 pt pace with a bit of variance one year to the next. I'd list the upside at 90 and the 3yp at 80 (:
