Default Rittich Calgary Starter next Season (REP)

Ok. I admit I have not researched this very much, preferring to defer to the Dobber community for an answer.

The question: What are the odds that Rittich becomes Calgary's starting goalie next season? Definitively, probably, possibly, highly unlikely?

Does he have much value going forward in a keep 10 league? Should he hold value for a bottom team with poor goaltending say? I am trying to gauge his value as a tradable asset.

Thanks for all your responses in advance. As always I will rep where I can

his value is limited. I expect Cgy to be in the goalie free agent market this summer. I'm not sure they are in love with any of their viable options Gillies, Smith, Rittich, (Parsons too far off). His value is at its highest for ROS right now. if Cgy trades for a G - it plummets. Could go back up this summer if they don't find a #1 option, but Rittich is only a stop-gap option until something higher end, more permanent comes along

So hard to know now. The Flames don't really have much in the way of big contracts ending, other than Mike Smith. Matt Tkachuk's ELC is up so he needs to get paid. So Mike Smith's money is likely to go to Tkachuk. There's no money to bring in a big goalie name unless bloated contracts like Neal's get cleared. I'd guess that over the summer the Flames bring in a Jaroslav Halak-type, that is, someone who has had starting experience but wouldn't necessarily be the obvious #1 over Rittich as of October 1, 2019.

Likelihood of Rittich being the starter as of Oct. 1? 50/50 As of January 1? 30% yes, 70% no.

I'd say possibly begins year as starter, likely begins year with the team, and has a shot to take the job.

There aren't many free agent goalies who are likely to get big deals such that they will be entrenched; I see Bobrovsky, and then a step or two down to the next group.

People seem to be jumping off the Rittich train pretty quick lately. Smith has seemed to be stealing starts again from him so I don't know what to expect from him next year. To answer your question in your post, I'd go with possibly at this point.

Looking at your signature, Andersen is probably the only goalie I'd be holding and MAYBE Bishop. At least you know those two are legit starters on their team. Too many question marks around Rittich for him to be a keeper in your setup for me.

There's a chance the Flyers deal them somebody other than Hart: Talbot or Elliott.

The Smith owner in my league is dangling Shesterkin and C. Primeau for my Rittich. So I imagine he isnt feeling real safe.

Shesterkin. I'd much rather have him than Rittich. That you would have Samsonov, Sorokin, AND Shesterkin only cements it for me. You're set for the *now* with your tendies, and this deal would ensure continued dominance in nets for like a decade.

Rittich confirmed to start tonight , last start was Feb. 12th.

If he has anything less than a stellar outing vs the depleted Sens I'm going to be real worried about holding onto him any longer.

Any G who starts against the Sens is a must play if you need a streamer.

Agreed, although I'm benching him to preserve my GAA and Sv% lead.

Tied in shutouts and I won't catch up wins, so it's really shutout or bust for me and I don't want to take that risk. I still won't be upset if it happens!

Any G against the Canucks is pretty good too. VAN has been shutout in 6 of last 24 games. I will wager a spot on a 25 percent chance at a SHO most days.
