IMO this one isn't complicated. Players rarely play at 100% and his lack of production is likely linked to his injury.
League in sig.
Has been a keeper for the past two years and has been great in our cats.
He was good prior to his injury, and for a couple of games after he came back, but since then...nothing.
Looks like he is still playing 2nd line minutes, on 1st PP but no scoring.
I am in 1st by the narrowest of margins and need scoring but don’t want to do anything rash.
Thanks.

He's also been on pp2 since he's been back (as far as I've seen). Theyre running barkov, hubs, Hoffman, dadanov and yandle on pp1.
For him to pace for 70 plus he'll need back on that top unit. I wouldnt worry too much, cream rises.

He just came back from a gruesome injury. IMO as an owner in one league.....i didn't expect him back at all this year. The fact he is playing already is amazing to me. It will take several weeks for him to get back up to speed. I don't fully expect him to be 100% the rest of this year.
His advanced stats indicate that he's been unlucky - whether or not you can attribute that to recovering from injury is up to speculation. His possession numbers are up to the usual Trochekian standard. It could turn around for him shortly...unless he's playing hurt. Florida is 9 points out of a playoff spot so there's nothing to be gained by playing him if he is injured.
Any time a player has a significant injury such as Trocheck, I tend to write them off for the rest of the season. Next season he will be back 100% healthy and will be just as valuable as he was at the start of this season imo. These injuries take time ... nobody is ever 100% having not skated for so long and not getting the reps in practice.
Like others have said, after a traumatic injury like Trocheck's it takes significant time to recover to your old form. Look for him to be back to himself stuffing all categories next season.

Most likely he returned 75% healthy. Good enough to play with bearable pain & low risk of re-injury. With someone like Trochek, you suck up the cold spell. Or if you're out of a race... he's someone you target as a buy low for next year.

Also, he was a 70+ player just one season. Maybe that was the anomaly?
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
He's not playing injured. He's just not at his peak condition. There's a big difference. Remember what Stamkos' leg injury did to his effectiveness?
I went through something similar a couple years ago when I returned from a calf tear. The injury was healed but it took several more months to get full strength back in my leg. TBH I was not a fast runner at all after returning from injury that year.

Looks like Trocheck is practicing on the first unit pp as of yesterday. Bumping Dadonov to the 2nd unit as per LWL.
Everyone can step back from the ledge now.
I really, really need him to start scoring. I'm in a tight H2H battle in the first round of our playoffs.

I benched him last week for JVR and this week in favor of D. Strome. Both had 4 man games to trocheks 3.
After that kind of injury I like to see signs of life before throwing a guy in there. Practising on Pp1 and that could be the match that lights this fire. I hope he gives me some confidence to start him next week. I'm routing for a 3 point game.
