Default Is Robin Lehner for real?

The guy has 29 games played at .932. He's probably not keeping his .932 up forever. I'm wondering more about the next couple years. Does he have the skill to put up .920 + season after season or do you guys think this is an outlier?

I've seen at most a handful of NYI games this year and he's been solid, but not as mindblowing as the numbers suggest.

He was always supremely talented but got his life back on track off the ice only recently. Would still be wary of him outside what we know are friendly confines of the Barry Trotz/Mitch Korn coaching environment. He is a UFA this summer and could be underwhelming in another locale, but I am confident in him for this season.

Legit. Talent has always been there. Mentally unsound until this season. Agree with Steve's post above.

If he moves to a new team this summer - Chicago, Carolina would both be fun options; I'd expect at least a .1 dip in his Svpct. he was good in horrible Buffalo and lights out on Trotz Island. He'll be above average most anywhere else.

...except Edmonton, he'll be hung out to dry there.

So he's a guy who should be traded at maximum value over the summer unless he stays with the Islanders! Thanks guys!

I agree with what’s been said but as always the contract will say a lot - if he stays in NYI - awesome for the owner - if he leaves town his value will take a hit and how much depends on who he signs with - Isles have another year of Greiss at $3.3M and a hot 23 yo prospect with 5 years KHL experience and rock solid #s in Sorokin. Looks like they should have the cap space to sign Lehner but not sure on the term...

Eberle, Lee, Beaulivier, Nelson all also need contracts ...

he was a little more exposed to high end chances than usual last night v.s boston and made some nice saves to keep isles in it .

One of the things that tends to get lost with Lehner is that he was actually pretty good for Buffalo back a few year when he was with that team. They had a lot less talent then they do now and he kept them in more games than the team deserved to be. I think he’s an above average goalie, who’s value is propped up a bit higher right now because of Trotz/Korn. I wouldn’t mind him as a solid #2, and even a #1 on a fantasy squad (unless he goes somewhere like Edmonton).

    Please God, not the Soilers.

Fortunately it seems a bit unlikely with Koskinen's deal, which looks like a 1A contract at least.
