IRL?
Anyone have suggestions? Trade deadline is less than a month away with the all star game being this weekend.
Which players can benefit from being dealt to a contender and/or which players can benefit from losing a good player on their team thus getting more opportunities on not so contending teams? Would love to get an idea of the names out there.

If the Caps move Burakovsky he might be an interesting dice roll, especially if its a team that badly needs his help.

Not sure who gets traded to Winnipeg to fill in that 2nd line center role but who ever goes there could see a bit of a boost, kind of like Stastny did last year. I can see someone like Kevin Hayes being a trade target for the Jets there but that's just a guess.

There's only a few players that could GAIN stats by going to a competitor.
Usually we all think, "Oh, changing teams - stats will rise."
But, it takes time to gel with teammates.
For every "spot on Sid's wing"... there's 15 other guys traded to good teams that don't put up same stats.
Many solid 2nd line UFA guys are traded for by playoff teams and end up playing as depth 3rd liners.
Personally, I'd be thinking more towards players on BAD teams that could get more ice time if star players are traded.
JG Pageau and Colin White may see more expanded roles/TOI if Matt Duchene gets traded.
Maybe Adrian Kempe (LA) if LA looks to try to move Jeff Carter. (who has an attractive declining "ACTUAL" salary, even though he has 3 years of contract left).
JVR or Nolan Patrick (PHI) should command the 5th spot on PHI PP1 if Wayne Simmonds gets traded.
Wingers that could be on the move that could end up with better playmaking centers:
Gustav Nyquist (DET) - UFA 2019
Wayne Simmonds (PHI) - UFA 2019
Marcus Johansson (NJ) - UFA 2019
It's possible that Duchene and Hayes get traded.
But I see those guys actually losing ice-time to be considered as their teams C2 or C3 for a playoff run.
[As an example: Paul Stastny was a 19min/GP player with STL. In his trade to WPG, he dropped to 17min/GP as their new C2/C3. Points were OK on 16.7%shooting, but ice-time gets lowered on splitting time with good players.)
Dougie Hamilton ... I acquired him in my keeper league about a week ago. As an owner, would love to see the Hamilton to the Maple Leafs rumor come true. As a Bruins fan, I would hate to see that happen.
Either way though, Carolina doesn't seem to be a fit for him so hopefully he can land somewhere he can be productive.
Without me, it's only "aweso".
Brassard could be a good one too. He hasn't worked in Pittsburgh.

Hmmm appreciate the suggestions. Noted down a few names I might pick up a week or so before trade deadline in hopes of this best case scenario.
...likewise on a different note, any goalies who can potentially benefit?
Simmonds will be traded for sure. He could find his game again in a power play unit in Nashville for example.
Hayes already has been mentioned but hes another interesting name to put on your your watch list.
Like Simmonds, Maroon could be a target for a contender to boost their top 9/pp he was traded to the Devils last year and played well for them producing 13 points in 17 games.
Silfverberg is another player I think will get traded. Anaheim's poor offence holds him be a 55-60 point player.
Devils & Predators fan
Jeff Carter. If he were dealt to Winnipeg, for instance, it would be sick.
