Saros over talbot for sure. As for your question best hope imo is a situation like Bernier has in Detroit. Talbot is finished. In a twist of irony watch him go to the KHL.
Any guesses on which team he gets traded to now that Kosk is signed?
Also who could afford him?
And is he worth holding on to over Saros, Blackwood, Allen or Schneider?
Schneider lost 2-1 tonight in the Ahl.
He's on a conditioning stint ( from ab injury).
Blackwood was sent down also to get work since NJ doesn't play until after the allstar break.
Feel like I have to keep the NJ tandem to see where it goes.
Basically then it might come down to Saros or Talbot.
I'm not concerned with keepers.

There's a chance Talbot gets dealt to a team needing some healthy bodies like the Flyers were last year, or somebody who needs better play from a backup, and has cap room. Most teams could fit him under the cap, if Edmonton either retains some salary, or takes a player back that has a reasonable cap hit, doesn't need to have term. You can check cap room on CapFriendly, and sort it.

Talbot could get a backup level NHL contract next year, but he may also be done.

Talbot's career numbers look OK and he's only 31. Why is the consensus that he's done, rather than just a victim of the Oilers dumpster fire? In a keeper league would it be worth a gamble that he becomes a starter elsewhere?

Saros over Talbot.
I don't think Talbot will be a starting goalie anywhere next year. I see him as a backup goalie at best.

i can see Ottawa taking a stab at Talbot to cover Andersons eventual departure. Ya tey have Nilsson, but after that its a while before Hogberg or Gus are ready IMO. 1A / 1B with Nilsson?

Talbot's career is in limbo. He might even be starting the world tour as a backup. As for a trade, it's a lot easier cap-wise to make moves later in the year. A new team is only responsible for the remaining portion of Talbot's season cap hit. By the deadline he would cost them like $1 million. He won't be difficult to move and there's going to be teams interested in an insurance policy. He just won't fetch much in return for the Oilers.
