I think that's too much. Lehner and Forsberg are miles better than Talbot and Teravainen. Especially Lehner who is red hot right now and to me you're really only gaining in Hits out of this trade but losing in all other cats
Hi all,
I received the following offer in my league recently:
His Ovechkin, Teravainen, Talbot
for
My Seguin, Forsberg, Lehner
OV ticks all the boxes for what my team needs (G, +/-, SOG, HIT), and I'm OK with moving a goalie to get it done, but my feeling is that I'd just be giving up too much. What do you think? Talbot is such a poison pill... Does that deal look any better if it's, say, Korpisalo instead of Talbot?
League details: 1 year Yahoo; standard roto categories (G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, HIT, W, SV%, SV); 12 GMs, 25 roster spots, games played limits of 82 on all positions. I'm in 6th right now; I'm cleaning up in the goalie stats and am competitive (7 out of 12 or higher) in A, PPP, and SOG, but I'm hurting in G (5/12) and especially +/- (1/12) and HIT (2/12). I'm in 6th right now, a 6-7 point gain instantly puts me in the thick of things. The other GM is in 2nd last and is trying to avoid relegation, so he wants as much as he can get for OV.
My team:
C: Seguin, Backstrom, Aho (LW/RW), Duchene, Coleman (LW/RW)

Nope!!
Glad to hear I'm not crazy on this.
I was thinking about something like Seguin + one of my goalies (Hellebuych, Gibson, Lehner) for OV and a smallish piece like Korpisalo. He really seems to want three quality pieces, but I can't see a clear path to that where I don't end up hurting my team more than helping it.

sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make. or something like that. can't blame the other gm for trying to cash in on OV...but that doesn't mean you have to meet his asking price.
I like your team the way it is. I'd want nothing to do with Talbot and your goalie corps is nice.
Well, I do think I'll have to move a goalie if I'm going to make a run for it... I have a total of 8 of 36 roto points at Goals, +/-, and HIT, so ideally I'd like to gain 10+ points in those cats. My FLA contingent is especially killing my +/-... Huberdeau, Yandle, and Mattheson are a combined -60, whereas my team overall for the year is at -54.
I'm inclined to move Gibson or Hellebuych first over Lehner -- my NYI combo has been serving me well, and that looks like a pretty safe bet to continue -- but those not having their best seasons, even though they're both inside the top 10 in terms of goalies for the year.
