Default Use #1 waiver priority on Adin Hill?

I've been sitting on top waiver priority since October with no juicy drops until now. Adin Hill was just dropped.

Keep-4 roto league (no keeper implications here)
    12 teams - W, GAA, SV%

Two of three goalie categories are averages so quality over quantity.

    Current goalies:
    Braden Holtby
    Semyon Varlamov
    David Rittich
    Mike Smith

Currently I am tops in overall goalie production, so this would be more about maintaining a good thing. Would you drop Smith for Hill?

I would hold onto Smith and save your priority

Ya id pass on this one. Hill just isn't an improvement from what you already have.
    Set roster weekly in H2H (Mon to Sun) - 16 Teams - start 6F, 3D, and 1G per week - Keep 2

    Points: 2 G / 2 A / 1 PPG / 1 PPA / 1 Hat Trick / 1 SHG / 1 SHA / 1 GWG - 3 Goalie Win / 2 Goalie Loss in SO or OT / 5 goalie SO

    Forwards:
    C. McDavid, N. Kucherov, R. O'Reilly, J. Schwartz, J. Toews, J. Huberdeau, T. Toffoli, M. Granlund

    Defense:
    B. Burns, J. Klingberg, R. Josi, J. Slavin

    Goalie:
    J. Binnington

Smith seems to be getting at least one hand back on the reigns. I would pass as well. Hill is at best just above a timeshare with Kuemper, while Smith is at worst a 50/50 split with Rittich for the rest of the year. On top of that Calgary seems to be much better than Arizona, so the quality leans his way too.

    So I would pass.

    Thanks guys.

Alternatively, I might drop a skater like Steen for Hill after he clears and run with five goalies. I'm way ahead in skater projected GP (by design) and I'm sitting around -3 for goalies. Not a concrete plan at all, just something I'm considering.

I could see that making sense. Especially if you can be a little pickier with your matchups that way, getting home games and weaker teams.

Considering that Hill was just sent to the AHL, I would hold onto the waiver priority spot. I dropped Hill earlier today.

He's been recalled, hence this thread.

Hill wasn't actually sent down. That was a paper move before the holiday roster freeze.

    Matt Layman@mattjlayman
If I have this right, the CBA allows teams to recall players but not send them down during the roster freeze, which goes into effect tonight. So if they need these guys in the next week+, they can call them up. But it allows them to free the spots now if Vinnie, etc come back.
