Points only ...... Take it.
Was just offered Klingberg for my Dahlin. Can anyone talk me into keeping Dahlin? I think I have to take this offer. Thoughts?
Team in Sig.
Points only ...... Take it.
Give me Klingberg for the next 3 years. After that who knows.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Take the deal: Dahlin is probably the real deal, but Klingberg is definitely the real deal.

Klingberg is easily a top 5 offensive Dman. You can only hope Dahlin reaches that status. Take the deal.

I would keep Dahlin. I think he's going to be better than Klingberg both for this season and for all future seasons. Dahlin is an 18 year old who is already the #1 dman for a pretty good offensive team. He's only going to get better. Klingberg just had surgery on his hand so who knows what his stick skills are going to be like upon his return.
Can you ask for picks too? I would do it either way but getting some extra picks never hurts.
Appreciate these opinions, welcome some more.
I don't believe this offer is going away, so intend to think on it some more..
Klingberg easily for me. It’s not like he’s 30 yrs old. He’s 26. And he’s a proven commodity. Dahlin is a good young player but what if he turns out to be an Adam Larson? Ask Chiarelli how that trade is working out...

Rasmus Dahlin for me.
He's already pacing for about 40pts this year.
50 the next.
60+ every year after that.
Dahlin has EVERY offensive tool for a defenseman.
(His breakouts, hockey vision, skating - all considered EXCEPTIONAL. These are things Nick Lidstrom was also praised for... different player... but same generational break-out/hockey-vision sense.)
Klingberg is an exception D-man too...
Dahlin's just... he's not a miss.
Dahlin is a lock defenseman sensation.
Don't trade this guy away - you want him forever.
Imagine it is 2013-2014.
Somebody says: "I've been offered Ryan Getzlaf for my Nathan MacKinnon (rookie)".
We'd probably all say to take the 87pt Getzlaf, who was age 27 in 2013.
Since then, Getzlaf has gone 70, 63, 73, 61... not bad, right?
That still beats MacKinnon handily in 14-15, 15-16, and 16-17.
Now, though... he sort of feels really old at 33...
And MacKinnon owners (who had to hold thru a bumpy 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year) are really happy to have the 23-year old!
[If your time to win really IS now... yeah, Klingberg maybe... but I don't think Dahlin will even stumble like MacKinnon. Linear rise. 40-50-60-70, IMO, for Dahlin.]
Dahlin for me - under 20 and put up 8 shots while playing 28 minutes last night. This kid is going to be special and they do not come along often.

Put me in the Dahlin camp...Sabres are leaning on him more and more - watched last night as on one pp they were teeing him up then the next pp teeing up Eichel. 28 minutes played, 8 shots on goal...the way he skates through guys with the puck, the points are going to come (he's already on a decent pace but scratching the surface)

How about this...where do you sit in the standings? If your season is looking like it’s over maybe stick with Dahlin. If you’re contending I’d go with Klingberg. You can always make a play to get him back later too. Your forward group is strong. And it’s a 9 team league...not particularly deep. If he’s average the rest of the season maybe his new owner doesn’t even keep him. Those are other things I’d think about ...

I'm not sure I want to be trading a guy that can do this...
- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
I made a similar offer for Dahlin at the beginning of the fantasy season and I was rebuffed.
I think the fact that he's a rookie defenseman and they won't have the same kind of instant fantasy impact and production right away makes for a buy window. Once he's established himself offensively, that window is gone. I think you're on the wrong side of this. He's a rare breed of a player. His hockey sense is through the roof, an elite skater and passer. His play as an 18-year old rookie defenseman has been something special, hidden from us because of our fantasy relevance focus.
If you don't have him, take a leap because you could end up with a Lidstrom in as little as two years time. If you have him, would you risk giving up a McDavid equivalent talent on defense?
