Yep, it worked for me. Sit those bastards
Hello,
Just curious if someone could enlighten me on this.
In my Yahoo league we have to start a min. of 3 goalies in the week otherwise the points are not allocated in the totals. So far I have started two goalies and they've netted me negative 12.8 in points (I had Rittich and Bob in that crazy game this week... go figure!). I don't think my goalies will rebound enough to get me out of the hole. If I sit my goalies for the rest of the week will I get those points back? Or is there a catch that if you're in the negative it still adds to your totals even though you didn't start the min. goalies.
Thank you.

Thats interesting one... I never played in a hockey point league but in the h2h cats leagues you just lost all the categories no matter how good or bad your stats have been. You should bench your goalies for the rest of the week to find out. Then tell us!

I also am interested to see. I am in a HTH with a 2 goalie min, but cats so can't have a neg score.

Oh man, that's a very nice strategic wrinkle -- let us know!
Interesting topic.
Goalies have been getting rocked this year.
In the 24-team WHL dynasty, we have had a lot of one-day goalie negative scoring.
Technically, a team could go from winning a H2H match on Sunday, to LOSING it (with a negative goalie), and then perhaps make a late "illegal roster move" to wash those negative points back to zero.
Have to nip-that-possibility in the bud before somebody takes advantage of it someday.
[Great topic though. Nice tip in leagues where commissioner doesn't catch it in advance. #WHLcommissionerOnTopOfIt!!]
The negative points will come off if you stay under the weekly limit. I've seen it done before.

Trust me, it works.
No kidding eh? That's very a interesting oversight by Yahoo. I am in a weekly H2H points league and goalie starts are set at no minimum as it should be.

If you have no minimum. You start the week out with a great goalie start, you won 50 pct of your goalie stats.

So, if anyone was wondering if you don't hit the goalie minimum will negative points be erased. The answer is yes. It is a bit of a dirty stratagey but it does work. Not that it mattered this week for me but it is good to know if you goalies are doing bad you can always try this out.
