I hate to report this as a Kings fan, but...he did have surgery today. He will likely miss 2-3 months, minimum.

Oh man, I’d like to see Carolina jump all over this.

Campbell has looked shaky after those first three games. Canes have a surplus in net now with Darling back and seem to be aggressively looking to improve over the last year. They should at the least be making calls.

CAR should be making calls and LA should be ignoring. None of their guys will make a difference and Darling is under contract for two more years.

True, but for some strange reason, LA has a habit of making mediocre goalies look good for years and then pawning them off for decent returns LOL!

Axe that is absolutely correct. But I don't know that they can work the kind of miracle that Darling needs. Plus his AAV and term are more than I would like to see the Kings spend. I would wheel Budaj out there again. He was almost a Vezina finalist a couple of years ago the last time Quick went down long term. Not like there's much to lose in trying. Season is not looking good at all, time to circle the wagons.

Bob MacKenzie just mentioned Steve Mason as a possibility here. This makes a lot more sense than wrecking their payroll in future years.

Nhl.com is saying he's out 3 to 6 weeks according to Curtis Zupke. I sort of expected it to be worse than that... If it's only a month give or take a week or two I don't know if they'll be rushing to grab a big name goalie... Unless they want to pull a other Bishop trade but I doubt it

Edit: I see he's on ltir so the 3 week time frame doesn't make sense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

edit 2: I think the 3 weeks is referring generally to the amount of time to recover from the injury, not the actual time until he's back. Which makes sense since they probably want to see him in practice anyways before he plays again.

Skating, but still a long way from playing. That said, sounds like he is making great progress which is great for us Quick owners

Yeah I'm guessing early December for his return. He went on LTIR either Oct 21 or Nov 1 so we won't be back within a month of then. The injury recovery time was reportedly 3-6 weeks, so it will probably be the first 2 weeks of Dec he comes back.
