    Default Trade - I?ll rep

I got offered Seth Jones or Couture and a 2nd for Wheeler. Wheeler is currently my 3 year, and if I move him, I can slot Pavelski at my rw (he?s been on my bench since I acquired him), and couture upgrades my lw. Couture is a 1 year, and I?m going to sign Boeser to 2 after this year so I could sign either Jones or Couture to 1 year. Is either option plus a good pick better than Wheeler? He?s doing ok, but just 1 goal and is always assist heavy. Couture isn?t great, 60-65 pts but goal heavy. I?m struggling near the bottom of my standings so far. Stand pat, or maybe do this? My D is ok, ekblad underperforming, but on bench anyways, OEL got first pt last night, and Dumba has been solid.

I realize I?d be moving the best player, but it gives me more flexibility as going into next year, I was going to have Wheeler (2) and Boeser (2), and no expiring guy. In short, is a pick + couture better vs Wheeler? The draft is obviously watered down, but a 2nd is a valuable pick, even considering 70 guys are already taken (4 keepers/team + rookie Carry over). I?ve just never been a big couture guy, and I think wheeler/the jets will get going soon, and I still have a chance to be competitive this year with my roster either way, but just mulling it over

Maybe stand pat, since it?s 4 keep and you want the strongest players possible? I mean in total, couture and the pick will get more fantasy pts, but a) that?s not till next year, and b) I think wheeler would be considered the much better keeper still/trade asset, even if he?s undervalued as a whole.

Stand pat. If you're going to make a move like this, at least wait till later in the year. The pick does nothing for your team for the current season unless you're using it as an asset in another trade..

True, just wonder if you think couture and wheeler will be similar, since couture gets more goals and my format is goal weighted.

I don't think its enough to justify trading Wheeler, no.

If you put Couture at - 30 goals/30 assists - he'll net you 150 points.

Wheeler will be in the range of 25/55 and would net you 185 points.

Pretty much sums it up. If you're out for this season that move isn't to bad.
Anytime you're lossing the best player in the deal for multi player in return you better be retooling or full rebuilding (gaining 2 solid stud prospects with some high end picks kinda combo). just my 2cents

The season is only 15 days old and one of those days didn't have any games scheduled. The Canucks have only played one home game. One! You are looking way to far in the future, especially in a keep 4 league. You have to keep your eyes on the prize.

To answer your specific question: I would rather have Wheeler over Jones/2nd. I would rather have Wheeler over Couture/2nd.

I get what you?re saying, but no farm system in this format. We have a rookie slot/can carry 1 over, then sign to max 1-2 yr contract after that next season if we have room, assuming the rookie has burned their rookie status (ie: like Boeser how I carried him into this year/will sign him before next year). I did move Benn in a package type deal where I got Keller and other pieces, so got younger there, but I think Ill see where I?m at at say Christmas, then see from there. I?m not sure that you could say I?m re-building, I?ll have Keller, Boeser, Wheeler, Barkov, Zadina going into next year, so lots of youth; but not like I have all 18-19 year olds. I?m sort of hybrid, I do want to compete now, but I?m off to a slow start and have no issues going younger If the deal makes sense. I?ve got carter, Pavelski, bob, and so on, like non keepers on my team, more 1 year guys, but if I?m out of it in a couple of months I?ll try to ship anyone out I won?t keep, and then would maybe be a good time to see about values Wheeler again at that time, but i?m obviously ok selling off guys I?m not keeping, and holding onto wheeler heading into next season as well. He?s a steadying presence in my group!

True, just thought they were interesting offers but I?m going to stick with what I have right now. Won?t let couture?s Hattie last night change Anything, lol
