Hopkins side wins.
However the Charles signing was for backup purposes I think, not to replace or eat into Yeldon's load.
Still Hopkins side.
I just traded Yeldon, Crowell, Hilton, Stafford to get Hopkins, Kittle, Hines. The logic was that Yeldon and Crowell will digress and are not all that predictable, especially now that Charles is in JAX. Hilton is injured but he was the one I had a hard time letting go. Stafford is a QB and I was able to grab Winston off the wire anyway...so I didn't care too much about that (plus I have Luck starting). Anyway, I needed a TE badly and tried to swing an elite player in the trade...Hines is a decent option too since my league is PPR. Thoughts on the trade? Too much? Even?
My team:
QB: Luck, Winston,
RB: Zeke, Ingram, Hyde, K. Johnson, Hines
WR. Hopkins, Adams, Baldwin, J. Brown, Nelson
TE: Kittle, Brate
IR: OJ Howard, D. Foreman

Agree that getting Hopkins is a win, and that's the straw that stirs the drink here. Otherwise, it's a pretty meh deal overall as you paid a good price to get the deal done (TY is no slouch, and figures to get better as the season goes on once he's healthy and as Luck continues to knock off rust). Kittle is a good, but hardly elite -- and I think Brate could do very well while Howard's out (and perhaps even once he returns) with Winston now back under center.
Still, particularly given TY's lack of health right now and your depth at RB, I think it was worthwhile to solidify your starting lineup. You paid a lot, but that's what it takes sometimes to get deals done involving an elite, high-profile player like Hopkins. You still have the depth to survive upcoming bye weeks, so maximizing the starting lineup should be the focus.

Hopkins side wins. He is Antonio Brown level and the best player you gave up is injured.
Ok cool, I do like the end result for myself by getting Hopkins. I was however wondering if I over thought some of the components of the trade and paid too much...I'm the commish of this league so for me to get a trade done takes twice the effort. It's been about two years since I could pull a trade off.
And I actually agree that Yeldon is still quite valuable but Fournette will be back at some point and seeing a guy like Charles join always makes you wonder since some of these veterans explode. So I wanted to trade him when he was highly valued. As far as Hilton...like I said I will miss him, I had high hopes for him because I stacked him with Luck, but I could not resist getting Hopkins.
