NTC/NMC can only be given during UFA years, not during RFA years.

But you can sign a contract and have the NMC kick in on the UFA years. Like year 1-4 doesn't have one,but years 5-8 have a NMC. Think Subban who had the NMC but wasn't honoured by the Preds after he was moved.

Faulk does little to improve the Leafs. If the Leafs get anyone from Carolina, they need to get one of Pesce or Slavin.

The issue is that Toronto needs like a No2 D. Not a No3-6 guy. And that No2 D is hard to find and likely needs to add to Nylander to get that deal done.
Still 18-ish days to get a deal done. Before I wasn't worried about this situation, now I'm 65/35 on him getting dealt.

What about Nylander Gardiner and a 2nd for Provorov?
Or a combo of Sanheim/Morin/Myers/Frost/Lindblom/Ratcliffe....

That deal only makes sense for wishful Toronto fans. There is a zero percent chance Philly trades Provorov for a winger.
Edit: the other names are possible I suppose. My money is on Carolina though.
