Default Pulock Montour Theodore or... Fiala

    Hi,

Many thanks to all of you in advance.

Weird keeper league here. Keep 28. Top-4 D, Top-11 F counts. Points only. But to ensure parity, we 'protect' 10 every year, and we draft one round, basically stealing a player from another team. Just to help parity.

Finished 17th out of 18 last year, and carried exactly 4D, including DeAngelo.

So I plan to draft Dahlin.

Thing is, here are the best unprotected players :

    Jeff Skinner
    Kevin Fiala
A bunch of older, average, career long 50-point guys like Kreider, Hornqvist, etc.

And a LOT of cool keeper Ds that are better than most of mine.

    Brandon Montour
    Shea Theodore
    Ryan Pulock
and even Jacob Trouba and Josh Morrissey, to some extend.

The 18th ranked GM is now heading towards a free Skinner and now considers Dahlin because he'll miss on the great Ds he also needed.

So basically, question is considering I won't contend before one if not two more years :

Who has the best long-term value?

Are you all big Pulock believers like Dobber is?
Who will emerge in Anaheim and Las Vegas?
Is Trouba poised to breakout when he finally gets out of Byfuglien's shadow?
Should I just gamble on Dahlin being available 2nd overall and go for the potential of Kevin Fiala?

    Any input is valuable here.

Personally, I trusted Dobber on Ghost before any other guide did and I acquired him in most leagues (sadly not this one). So I feel like trusting him on Pulock is my best option for the moment.

I would trust Dobber indeed, so Pulock is a good back up plan if you can't draft Dahlin... But try to draft Dahlin!

I think there will be a coaching change and rebuild of sorts in Anaheim if they don't go deep this year... Getlaf, Perry, Kesler are elders now and window closing. That makes me a little worried about Ducks and therefore Montour long term compared to Pulock. The Island will have some major issues this year, but they have Barzal, Lee, Bailey, Pulock, and a great coach that will re-condition the team by shoring up the play away from the puck. While he's doing that and Lou Lam is wielding his magic, your team will be building next to them... before you know it, Pulock will be QBing an explosive PP1 and you will be ripe for the Championship in 2020.

When both Pulock and Ghost came into the league as rookies many years ago I chose Pulock. I should have listened to Dobber on that one. So ya I have Pulock as someone who is gonna breakout and become what I hoped would happen 3 years ago. Go with Pulock if you can't grab Dahlin.

I think Pulock is going to have a real breakout year and he could very well become a star fantasy D. What he showed in the 2nd half of last season is more than encouraging. This guy can be a fantasy beast in multi-cat leagues. And I think he has such a good shot he could eventually be a top 5 goal scoring D. I mean, Dhalin has one of the highest ceilings of any D ever, so there is no question if you can you should go with Dhalin.

But with or without Dhalin I would absolutely be all over Pulock this season. The Isles are a team on the rise IMO, at least offensively and for fantasy purposes. Not sure they will win a Cup any time soon or anything like that lol.

But Pulock I could see eventually breaking into the top 100 of overall players.
