if its only 6 keepers then draft the best players available. Not rookies
I am in a 12 team, 6 man points keeper leauge ---G (3), A (2), +/- (0.5), PIM (0.5), PPG (1) PPA (1), SHG (1), GWG (2), SOG (0.1)
In the first round i have the 3rd, 8th and 10th pick. I am thinking of getting a young guy with the first overall. I am fairly confident that Dahlin is going first overall. I am not sure about the 2nd overall pick (I am assuming that Svechnikov will be taken).
Who should I aim for with the 3rd overall?
Andrei Svechnikov (If available)
Elias Pettersson
Casey Mittelstadt
Filip Zadina
Other guys that would still be available that have played other seasons in the NHL are:
Kovalchuk, Kessel, Trocheck, Stone, Larkin, Schwartz, Pierre-Luc Dubois

In a 12-team league with 6 keepers, that's 72 guys off the board already, and you're starting drafting essentially in Round 7. I agree in general that you take the best player available, but I'm not against taking some risks at that point in the draft. Especially if you are not competitive yet.
Do you see any of those names you mentioned as replacing another of your 6 current keepers, and potentially holding on to them for a year with no results before they play a a whole NHL season? Personally I think I'd go with Trocheck, Larkin or PLD before I'd be looking at Svechnikov or Petterson, but if they're gone and those prospects are still on the board for your 8 or 10 pick? Knock yourself out

Definitely Trocheck. He's a bulk shooter who gets tons of ice-time and has a PP1 spot locked down with a talented group.

Listen to the above, go for best available as lots of players left, you have solid core to compete in league, let other guys gamble on prospects who may be 2-3 years away.
