worth adding in replace of one of Duchene, Zykov, Thornton, Buchnevich, Marleau ??

I'd probably give him a look instead of Zykov at this point. Worst case scenario you drop him after a few games and snag another lottery ticket. The McDavid effect is real.

Rattie is killing it playing with McDavid, and could be a sneaky pick. My concern is what happens when the Oilers lose a couple of games and start shaking up the lines. I would hope for 50 points, and target him at 40 points.

He looks like he has a real nose for the net kind of reminds me of Anson Carter playing with the Sedins with McDavid and Nuge playing the role of the Sedins. I think you draft expecting pascal dupuis and hope for Anson Carter like production. However as seeds pointed out don't be afraid to drop him quickly once off the top line which surely will happen at some point this season.

i watched full games with both hatties and yes he plays with McDavid it cant hurt but he does not just tag along on this line...he creates offense, he creates turnovers...sometimes people develop slower then others ..am i convinced he is next star? now not yet, but i do think he is worth a good look.

If Tavares can turn a couple of 9th rounders into stars, I think McDavid can do something with an early 2nd rounder. Not saying he will but the odds are pretty good.

I said earlier that Rattie's changed the way he's playing, matured, transitioned into more of the NHL style vs. Jr. style. Jr's he made a living staying out of the dirty areas & playing perimeter. Doesn't work in the NHL. Last year, someone got through to him and he's turned the corner. This is a massive pre season for him. not really a sleeper anymore... 2 hatties playing with McDavid will kinda pull the sheet off of you.

Bailey was a 9th overall pick, and Lee was the first pick of the 6th round. Lee also fell in the draft because a lot of teams thought he'd choose football over Hockey, as he was also a star football player.

Yeah, I was a HUGE Rattie doubter even a couple weeks ago, but he's turning me into a believer dammit...
