    Default Colin White

    for league in sig

we are doing our annual prospect draft. I have White on my farm and was wondering what you guys were expecting from him this season and what upside do you see in him. I see a middle-6 centre with 50-55 pts points in most years.

I can call him up and down for the farm until he reaches 40GP, then I either keep him on my roster or on the farm until the end of the season when I have to make a decision on him.

Would you rather keep him or drop him right away for one of the 2018 prospects, Sikura, Terry, ...

    This season, maybe 30-35 pts.

The shine is certainly off him as a high end prospect these days compared to past years. I still think he has 50pt potential but not expecting to see it any time soon.

Agreed. I moved him this offseason for a 2019 2nd round draft pick and felt fortunate.

I would closely monitor Sikura and Terry and would probably make a swap.

I have him too. Was far less impressive last season than he was at the World Juniors, but still have hope for 50-point seasons medium term. Has been playing at RW so far in the Sens rookie camp. They like his leadership skills.

Sikura and Terry are ahead of him. I like Sikura more because I think he will have more opportunities in Chicago.Anaheim got Perry,Kase and Silfverberg at RW so it’s gonna be more difficult for Terry to prove himself.

    Thanks guys!

50 pts is where I see is upside as well. Just wanted to make sure. Hopefully I can replace him by one of Sikura or Terry through our prospect draft.

If not, how does he compare with some of the 2018 late 1st early 2nd round prospects like Kupari, Kaut, Berggren, Ylonen?

I think all four names you mentioned have a higher offensive upside than White.

Kupari will have a big breakout season. I'd love to own him in at least one of my leagues but no such luck.

I am losing hope of 50-point season potential. He is currently centering 3rd or 4th lines at training camp.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I've got a question about Colin White. I own White on a farm roster (<60 GP) in a dynasty: G, A, +/-, PPP, SHP, SOG, FW, Hit, Blk. My main NHL roster is really stacked at the forward positions (3C, 3LW, 3RW, 6D, 2G, 7 bench) and I'm mostly looking for the highest-upside options for the farm team, whether they're arriving this year or in a couple seasons. For some reference, Nicklas Backstrom is my 5th Center so I have very little current need at the position, and my stable of RW options are Laine, Voracek, Granlund, Palmieri, and Oshie. So ... I'm not going to be needing White's middling production.

Farm: Kaprizov, Borgstrom, Thomas, L. Andersson, Frost, Vesalainen, White, Kostin // Husso, Gillies

I've been considering dropping Colin White for a higher upside prospect. Ideally, someone who will be arriving within the next couple seasons but really all I'm worried about is upside and likelihood of reaching that upside. Would any of you Dobberites drop White for any of the following options? (please rank):

Sikura, Kaut, Dahlen, Abramov, Heponiemi, Kupari, Denisenko, Poehling, N. Merkley, Lindblom, Hayton, Dube, Berggren, Noel, Ylonen // Jokiharju, Ty Smith, Timmins, Hague, Clague, R. Andersson, Fox, P. Myers, Niku

I don't currently own any more prospect Dmen, but I have 8 solid guys on my NHL main roster and I typically don't like to own many prospect D because their trajectory is not only more unpredictable, but usually longer than Forwards. Do any of these options represent an upgrade over Colin White within the next 2-3 seasons? Thanks in advance folks. I will +rep thoughtful replies.

MounD, I'd take much of that list over White if you are looking for upside.

Ottawa is looking like a place with high opportunity but middling upside for players, and if it's a prospect that's fizzled a bit instead of sizzled, that goes double.
